Privacy policy

Effective October 11, 2026

This policy covers the TKD Ring app for iPhone, iPad and Android, the browser version of the judge app, and this website.

In short: TKD Ring does not collect personal data. We run no servers that the app talks to, and the app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking. It communicates only with the tournament's ring computer on the venue's local network.

What the app does

TKD Ring lets a judge enter scores at a taekwondo tournament. It connects over the venue's local Wi-Fi to the ring computer that the tournament runs, and sends that computer the judge's scores.

Information stored on your device

To work reliably, the app keeps a small amount of information on your device only:

This information never leaves your device except as described in the next section. Deleting the app removes it.

Information sent to the ring computer

When you connect to a ring, the app sends the tournament's ring computer your judge name, your seat, the random device identifier, and the scores you enter. The ring computer is operated by the tournament on its local network, not by us. The tournament uses this information to run the competition and record results, including which judge gave which score.

The ring computer sends the app the information a judge needs to score, such as the division, the round, the poomsae, and the names of the athletes performing.

What we do not collect

Permissions

PermissionWhy
Local Network (iPhone, iPad)To reach the ring computer on the venue's network.
Network access (Android)To reach the ring computer on the venue's network.

The app also keeps the screen awake and in landscape while you judge. This needs no permission and collects nothing.

Browser judge page

The browser version of the judge app is served by the ring computer itself, not by this website, and it behaves the same way: it talks only to the ring computer and stores the same information in your browser's storage.

This website

tkdring.com uses no cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply.

Children

The app is intended for tournament judges and officials. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. Athlete names shown during a performance come from the tournament's ring computer and are not stored by the app after the performance.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update it here and change the effective date above.
