Help with the TKD Ring judge app and scoring system.

At a tournament right now? Ask the ring operator or the tournament's technical staff first. They can see your seat and connection on the operator screen and fix most problems on the spot.

Common questions

What is the TKD Ring app?

It is the judge controller for TKD Ring tournament scoring. Judges use it to enter scores for their seat at a ring. It works only at an event running TKD Ring; on its own it has nothing to connect to.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

No. There is no account and no sign-in. The app talks only to the ring computer over the venue's local Wi-Fi.

How do I connect to my ring?

Join the tournament Wi-Fi, open the app, and enter the address shown on your ring's operator screen. Full steps are in the setup guide.

The app can't find the ring

See troubleshooting. The usual causes are being on the wrong Wi-Fi network, a mistyped address, or the Local Network permission being off on iPhone or iPad (Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network > TKD Ring).

Why does the app ask for Local Network access?

To reach the ring computer on the venue's network, where it sends your scores. That is the only thing it uses the permission for.

My phone died during a division. Are my scores lost?

No. Every score the ring confirmed is stored on the ring computer. Take the same seat on another device (the app, or any phone's browser) once the operator approves it.

Which disciplines does it support?

Poomsae first (TKD Ring - Poomsae), to World Taekwondo rules with USA Taekwondo settings. Breaking and other disciplines will follow in the same app.
